What Horos does

Horos is an astrology app for iPhone, iPad and Android. It calculates your natal chart from the exact moment and place you were born, then keeps it in sync with the planets moving overhead today. Inside you get your full chart with planets, houses and aspects, a daily horoscope drawn from your whole chart rather than your sun sign alone, compatibility readings for the people in your life, an AI assistant that answers questions grounded in your own placements, and a community forum. The app is free to download.

What Horos asks for, and why

Astrology needs specifics. A chart cannot be calculated without knowing when and where you were born, so those are the first things the app asks for.

Birth date and time

Used to calculate where the planets stood at the moment you were born. Without it there is no chart.

Birth place

Converted to coordinates and a time zone so your houses and ascendant are accurate for where you were born.

Email address and profile

A Horos account is required, and the email address is what identifies it and keeps your charts in sync across devices. If you sign in with Google, Google also shares your profile picture and name, which become your avatar and display name in the app. Nothing else is shared, no contacts and no calendar.
