1. Introduction

3.2 Account Information
A Horos account is required to use the app. When you create one, we collect:
- Email address — For authentication and account management
- Username — For identifying your account
You can create an account with an email address and a password, or by signing in with Google. If you sign in with Google, the Google user data we receive is your email address, profile picture and name. See section 4.
3.3 User-Generated Content
If you use social features:

3.4 Technical Information

- Usage data — How you interact with the app (only for registered users)
4. Google Sign-In and Google User Data
Horos offers Google Sign-In as one of the ways to create or access your account. This section describes exactly what Google user data we handle. It applies in addition to the rest of this policy.
4.1 Google user data we access
When you choose to sign in with Google, Google shares the basic profile of your Google Account with us:
- Email address — identifies your Horos account
- Profile picture — becomes your avatar in the app
- Name — becomes your display name in the app
We do not request or receive your contacts, your calendar, your Google Drive files, or any other Google user data.
Signing in with Google is optional. You can instead create a Horos account with an email address and a password.
4.2 How we use it
The Google Account data obtained through Google Sign-In is used only to:
- Create and identify your Horos account
- Authenticate you when you return to the app or sign in on another device
- Show your name and profile picture as your display name and avatar, on your account and anywhere you appear in the community
- Synchronise your saved charts and profiles across your devices
- Send you essential service messages, such as account or security notices
We do not use it for any other purpose.
4.3 How we share it
We do not sell Google user data, and we do not share it with data brokers, resellers, or advertising networks. We disclose it only to the infrastructure providers that host and operate Horos on our behalf (see section 7), under contracts that require them to process it solely on our instructions, or where we are legally required to disclose it.
4.4 Limited use
Horos’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- We do not use Google user data to serve advertising, including retargeting, personalised advertising, or interest-based advertising.
- We do not use Google user data to develop, improve, or train generalised artificial intelligence or machine learning models. The AI features in Horos operate on your astrological data and never on data obtained from Google APIs.
- We do not transfer or sell Google user data to third parties for those purposes.
- No human reads your Google user data unless you have given explicit consent for a specific case, it is necessary for security purposes such as investigating abuse, it is required to comply with applicable law, or the data has been aggregated and anonymised for internal operations.
4.5 How we protect it
The Google Account data obtained through Google Sign-In is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest. Access is limited to the small number of authorised personnel who need it to operate the service. See section 10 for our wider security measures.
4.6 How long we keep it, and how to delete it
We retain this data for as long as your Horos account exists. You can delete your account at any time from the app’s settings, or by writing to [email protected]. Deleting your account permanently erases the email address, profile picture and name obtained through Google Sign-In, together with the rest of your account data, within 30 days.
You can also revoke Horos’s access to your Google Account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
